Una curatissima saletta, che in estate trasferisce i tavoli su una splendida terrazza da cui ammirare il mare e l’Etna, ospita il ristorante. Il famoso chef Heinz Beck è l’ispiratore della linea gastronomica, e si giova della mano delicata e sapiente di un collaboratore di grande valore, Delfo Schiaffino. La cucina parla una lingua contemporanea, sa osare e mettersi in gioco, è leggera, saporita, addirittura colta e spiritosa, sovente sorprendente. Da provare: ricciola marinata, pesca, rafano e caffè tostato, spaghetti all’estratto di peperone e cozze su crema di limoni ed erbe, macedonia di anguria ai fiori di sambuco, sorbetto alla mandorla, aria di litchi e fragole. Cantina ampia e con parecchie “chicche”, servizio sorridente, pienamente consono al livello elevato dell’insieme. This is a refined hotel with a significant British influence that dates back to 1907. It is enhanced by enchanting gardens and views. A legacy of ancient relations between England and Sicily has been crystallized here in the name of beauty. The dining room of the restaurant is well-kept and in the summer it transfers its tables to a splendid terrace from which you can admire the sea and Mount Etna. The famous Chef Heinz Beck is the mastermind behind the gastronomic cuisine, and he benefits from the delicate and skilful hand of a highly valued collaborator, Delfo Schiaffino. The cuisine speaks a contemporary language, it knows how to be daring and take a chance. It is light, tasty, we could even define it as being cultured and witty and, most importantly, often surprising. We highly recommend trying the marinated amberjack, peach horseradish and roasted coffee, spaghetti with pepper extract and mussels on a lemon and herb cream, watermelon salad with elderflower, almond sorbet, and aroma of lychee and strawberries. There is a large cellar with many gems, appropriate for the overall high standard of the establishment.
