Scirocco Sicilian Fish Lab è il posto giusto per gustare velocemente un croccante fritto di pesce in versione street food tra le “vuciate” dei venditori del mercato che fanno da sfondo. Ci troviamo nel cuore di Catania, in uno dei mercati ittici più antichi e caratteristici della Sicilia. Qui il concept è dinamico. Si ordina alla cassa, si paga e si prende da bere, si attende al tavolo di essere chiamati quando il fritto ancora fumante è pronto per essere gustato nei tradizionali cartocci di carta paglia. La scelta è ampia e si può optare per il cartoccio di mare con o senza spine, gli arancinetti misti (al nero di seppia, con calamari, con pesce spada), le polpettine di pesce, le sarde a beccafico alla catanese, l’insalata di polpo, il sautè di cozze e telline o i tramezzini anche senza glutine da provare in accompagnamento a bevande, birre e vini siciliani. Non occorre la prenotazione. Pochi i posti a sedere all’interno, tanti i tavolini all’esterno.

Scirocco Sicilian Fish Lab is the right place to quickly enjoy some crispy fried fish in a street-food version among the “vuciate” (hollering) of the market vendors as a background. Scirocco Fish Lab is located in the heart of Catania, in one of the oldest and most characteristic fish markets in Sicily. Here, the concept of service is a dynamic one: you order at the cashier, pay, get a drink, wait at the table to be called when your freshly-made, steaming fried fish is ready, and then taste it in the traditional straw paper sheet. The choice is wide and you can opt for the sea foil of fish (with or without fishbones), the mixed arancinetti (either with cuttlefish ink, squid, or swordfish), the small fish 'meatballs', the sardines 'a beccafico alla Catanese', the salad octopus, the sautéed mussels and cockles, or even the sandwiches (also gluten-free) to be tried with Sicilian beers, wines and drinks. Reservation is not required. There are only a few seats inside, but many tables outside.
